The
Nash County Finance Department's purpose is to provide a central
operation for handling the financial affairs of Nash County. Those
operations include:
- Collecting
and recording of County receipts for taxes, licenses, fees, grants
and other revenues;
- Purchasing
of goods and services;
- Maintaining
accurate automated financial records;
- Providing
payroll services for all County employees;
- Preparation
and distribution of financial information, and;
- Safeguarding
of County assets
- Preparing the County Manager's
recommended budget, administering the budget and overseeing
adherence to budgetary restrictions
- Investing the County's idle
funds
- Managing County debt issues
- Maintaining the fixed asset
inventory
- Assisting with strategic
planning, cost/benefit analysis and evaluation of County
policies and procedures
The Finance Department is
located on the third floor of the J. Claude Mayo, Jr.
